Small Footprint and Code Reusability with Svelte

Our approach to building the landing page for Shopify Hydrogen was rooted in digital sustainability and efficiency. We chose to utilize Svelte, a lightweight front-end framework, to ensure a small footprint and promote code reusability. By leveraging Svelte's intelligent compilation process, we were able to optimize the size of the page and enhance performance, creating a smooth and seamless user experience. Additionally, the Svelte ecosystem enabled us to easily reuse and maintain components, reducing development time and effort.

Consistent Design with TailwindCSS

Design consistency is key to a successful website, and we achieved this by harnessing the power of TailwindCSS. By using TailwindCSS, a utility-first CSS framework, we created a seamless transition from design to code. With TailwindCSS, we were able to streamline the design process by utilizing pre-defined utility classes, minimizing the need for custom CSS. This approach allowed us to focus our efforts on the core functionalities of the landing page, resulting in substantial time savings and a cohesive design language.

At the time, transparent videos were still relatively new and supported across browsers. We embraced the challenge of finding the right codec, file size, and format to ensure the videos effectively conveyed the desired message. Through meticulous testing and optimization, we successfully integrated transparent videos that added a visually engaging element to the page, further enhancing the overall user experience.
